This post is in memory of my late great mother who badly tripped on uneven main street footpath paving in Brighton, England on the first day of a holiday in 2001.

Uneven paving and inconsiderately parked wheelie bins used to be some of the many hazards for elderly, sight impaired, and those otherwise not that able on their feet or with their senses, to walk between.

Now in Hobart those people have yet another tripping hazard imposed on them – the inconsiderately parked scooter. Whether it’s the patrons or the proprietors, whether its company Beam or Neuron, it doesn’t matter, they are all a dangerous new obstacle to avoid if you can, or lucky. Darkness and wetness increases the chance of injury.

That would probably be the fault of the lazy, inconsiderate, selfish peanuts that use those things…
